GoogleApps@Case
Jeremy Smith's blog provides info for getting started using Google apps - gmail, start page, some desktop stuff? - with your Case acct. Really good stuff.
UPDATE: I really do think this is going to be pretty cool.

That's weird. What SMTP server are you using? Are you trying this through GoogleApps Webmail and getting this error?

Hi Jeremy - I really don't know what's up; I am trying to send mail through the GoogleApps webmail. I receive mail, and all the other Google stuff works fine, I just can't send it.
So that's the thing - I thought server issues were either Case's or Google's to deal with, as I'm not aware of any special processes I'm running over here that could be described as a server, or how to fiddle with any settings related to SMTP. I'm not sending mail from a client, technically, right? - so I thought any server-side issues would be Case's, not mine. Right now I can only assume gmail thinks I'm forwarding when I'm actually trying to compose. Go figure.
My mail is set to go to both Case webmail and Case's GoogleApps gmail. There's no malfunction with Case's regular webmail.
Do think it's a great idea though. Thanks for asking -

I've successfully replicated the problem. Will fix.

Okay, Sam and Ed (the other Mail Admins) have fixed it up. Give it another whack. Should work this time.

Yep, it works fine now. Thanks Jeremy, I really appreciate the help. I will now go back to singing the praises of GoogleApps at Case.

Does it link to LDAP for contacts search? It makes no sense if we each have to create our own contact list and/or use a another page to get the information we need when preparing an email.
I tried to search for some Case names because the contact search said something like search your "contacts and Case Western" but no results were returned.

I'm not sure about server stuff - there's a conversion utility for the Address Book at the GoogleApp FAQ page/wiki. But I'm not sure how Case addresses work with the gmail contact system.
