Green Senate candidate off in PA

Santorum campaign spokeswoman Virginia Davis said the lawsuit was an attempt by Casey's campaign to silence a candidate who was willing to debate the issues.

"Rather than focus on the issues, Casey and his crew spent weeks stifling democracy and disenfranchising the tens of thousands of voters who signed Green Party petitions," Davis said.

I'd be far more respectful of Davis' crocodile tears if Santorum had ever actually done anything to ease third-party ballot access.

I find it displeasing that Democratic and Republican campaigns are stifiling third-party campaigns, especially in the races where control of the seat could change.

"Displeasing" is a milquetoast word here, J. The duopoly repression of dissent is systemic, written into the election laws. It is because it is systemic and codified that folks like Casey or Blackwell can get away with what they do. "The law is the law; there aren't enough valid signatures." "The law is the law; the old election law warning is on these instead of the new one, and there's an extra unprescribed blank." So when somebody whines about what the other side is doing, I have to ask what they've done legislatively to counteract it. And the answer is always "nothing", because next time the election-rigging will benefit THEM.

I'm sick of Potemkin democracy. I do not think I will vote for any Democrat or Republican candidates this year, because they are all members of a conspiracy against democracy. I'll vote for a flaming red COMMIE first.
