Eloi coming to your gene pool soon
Billy Beck has been expecting the advent of the Eloi for some time now. Now he has an evolutionary theorist in his corner.
From the article, it doesn't look much like science. If women get any choosier than they already are about mates, men will buy Morlocks as being better alternatives than sheep or liver. I just don't see the evolutionary bifurcation happening

Go the sci-fict route (and it's getting to be more fact that fict), and those choosy women will be able to produce genetically engineered/implanted in vitro children, needing only select sperm, and taking lovers only for sexual pleasure. So the genetic elite is possible, but I suspect it will be fairly small in comparison to the general population, and because the mating-with-morlocks you envision would probably occur, and therefore enrich the morlock gene pool with eloi DNA, the genetic shift will be less drastic.
