Clitoris-removal not a tenet of Islam

...says a conference of Muslim scholars in Cairo.

This is not news, really. Non-African Muslims have been on this for awhile now, as it makes everyone look bad. What's tragic are the holdouts who claim, "OK, there's nothing in Mohammed's life to support this...but it's not forbidden."

The question is whether some of these holdouts would continue to do so without consequence if they immigrated to a country that forbids it. A sign of religious discrimination or radical fundamentalism?
