Jessie Davis

Even those like me who aren't much interested in crime have been wrapped up in this. And now that she's found, let me first say that my heart goes out to the family and friends of all involved.

But:

...investigators continued to question Bobby Cutts Jr., 30, who is the father of Davis' son but is married to another woman.

I'm going to be accused of "blaming the victim", of "being insensitive". And yes, that's exactly true. But it needs to be said: what was this drop-dead gorgeous woman doing sharing a man with somebody? 50 years ago, this was not acceptable. It's accepted now, but it's still not acceptable. And as we've seen from the results, it's not smart.

I beg to differ. It was done fifty years ago, it just wasn't accepted--and kept under the radar as much as possible. That is, after all, what a mistress is, or used to be.

The question I have to ask is, why did she keep up with a man who was (according to his ex girlfriend, accompanied by a lawyer on CNN) abusive?

That said, I tend to be suspicious of these cases in which the husband/boyfriend is the primary suspect. It's much too obvious and easy from a police POV to make the case against them. And often the chief grounds of suspicion is simply that they were a scumbag. Scott Petersen was a scumbag with a mistress who killed his wife. Now this man is a scumbag with a wife who killed his mistress (according to the police).

Well, Cutts was technically married, but legally separated from and not living with his wife. So, it may not be fair to accuse her of sharing a man without considering all the facts of the situation.
Also, no matter what the circumstances of his relationship, she clearly did not deserve to be killed.

she did not deserve to be killed. Someone on the news said that she had "cloudy judgement." She should not have been sleeping with and have children with a married man.

who cares -- she was a race mixing slut and got what she deserved -- whites who place themselves in an unnatural environment are unfit for evolution -- that's why she is dead -- good riddance - that should be the fate of all white female race mixers

I don't care what any of you all say. None of us knew this girl and she did not deserve to die. My heart pours out to her family. How could someone do that to an expecting mother. How fucking cruel is that. Jessie, rest in peace you did not deserve this.

Rich:
I didn't know he was separated. We haven't heard much from his wife. My wife claims that he had other women. I hope that her dad's 'tude was moral and not racial in nature.

Joe:
Maybe they only showed the really good pictures on TV.

rahowa:
If we didn't care about freedom of association, we could fix your problem in about two generations, by making miscegenation mandatory. A little hybrid vigor never hurt anyone...

all o' ya:
NOBODY deserves to be murdered. That's different from saying that Jessie put herself in a dangerous situation.

I thought this would get people cranked up. :-)

I believe noone should die for any reason, even though the comment earlier about racial mixing is agreeable to some point. If God wanted us to mis we would have all been the same skin color. But there again just because she wasn't allergic to chocolate like she should be doesn't mean she should have to die.

I cannot believe that some of you are so completely ignorant, rednecked and from the back woods that you would blame her for her boyfriend brutally murdering her and their unborn child. I don't care if you are purple, black, white, polkadotted, EVERYONE is a child of God. Obviously by some of your narrow-minded, hateful comments you are NOT a child of God. Go back to your trailer, read a intellectual book maybe find yourself a bible and educate yourself so you don't sound so fricken stupid! God Bless Jessie Davis, her son Blake and her family!

Some of you people are unbelievable. Race mixing slut???? Are you kidding me?? Please realize that is 2007, and I would date anyone of any other color instead of someone as ignorant and rude as you. I agree with the previous statement..Go back to your trailer. You sound like an idiot, and you will be the one "getting what you deserve." No one deserves for something like this to happen to them.

There are just too many insensitive people out there. They are not racists but just not sensitive enough. Harmony is required for a peaceful world. ;-)

I can't believe the comment, "race mixing slut" that was referred to a human being who was killed by a no good selfish womanizer. We should get along in this world and people have the freedom to date anyone of any race. Domestic violence exists because some of the abusers want to "contol their partners" and enjoy hurting the ones they are abusing. So, why do people have to be so hateful and make such insenitive and ignorant racial remarks? We do not need racial tensions in this world, we all need to get along. Maybe you need to go to church and while you are at church, you can get rid of the negative attitudes that you bear.

Some of these comments are disgusting. To think that your mind has let you believe that someone actually "deserved" to die EVER is beyond my comprehension, but in a situation as terrible as this, to even think those words is fucking ludacris. I don't know what right you think you have to spread your negative attitude over a family in such pain. So to you, fuck off. But for everyone else who actually has a heart, i agree that no matter the personal situation she was in, this was a terrible incident and that he will recieve his earned justice. My heart goes out to that family and friends of Jessie. Rest in peace Jessie and baby Chloe.

Excuse me, but is using the f*** word the only way to effectively make your point? Sure this is a situation that brings up a lot of anger, but ideas and feelings can be expressed without the use of four letter words. If only out of respect for Jessie and Chloe, let's use words that would glorify them and show respect for all us reading these posts.

EXCUSE ME! But if the language that I use is all your worried about, then talk to the people making the comments that actually hurt someone.

Have to agree with rahowa, sad as it is to say she crossed a line that shouldn't be crossed and apparently her parents allowed it. Word to the wise for future n-lovers, look what will happen. What a shame that she lost her life for her deviant ways.

I'm going to close comments for this post. My comment was a fairly limited one about personal responsibility; I should have known that the white supremacists would jump on it. I'm willing to give them enough rope to hang themselves, but when I have to manage umpteen expressions of outrage at their statements, it gets old. Don't feed the trolls, folks.

Oh, and one last comment for the last "anonymous": Jessie was an ADULT. There wasn't anything her parents could do but express their disapproval, which they evidently did. I know that's a hard concept to understand when you're 29 and living with your parents, but adults are free to make any mistakes the Nanny State permits them. I'm sure you'd like to shorten that list by passing some miscegenation laws, but then, how would you be different from any California liberal?

FOAD.
