Sheehan vs. the income tax.

The Democrats are the party of slavery and were the party that started every war in the 20th century, except the other Bush debacle. The Federal Reserve, permanent federal income taxes, not one but two World Wars, Japanese concentration camps, and not one but two atom bombs dropped on the innocent citizens of Japan – all brought to us via the Democrats.

Yep, that's Crazy Aunt Cindy. It's really refreshing to hear her come out against the Fed and the income tax...maybe she's been listening to old Ron Paul speeches. But for the woman who snuggled with Hugo Chavez, the woman who was the former darling of the Left to renounce their favorite tool of income redistribution beggars belief. Is she coming to her senses, or has she just found a new brand of nuts?

She probably has moved on to expropriation and direct action by the masses.

Although this is the first time I've seen Gulf War: the Kuwait Years termed a "debacle". And I have to wonder what conspiracy theory she uses to show how the Democrats were responsible for the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the invasion of China by Japan, the invasion of Poland by Hitler, the Russo-Japanese War, the Yom Kippur War (which did happen on Nixon's watch), and sundry other events and conflicts of the last century. (Yes, I know she probably meant American wars, but it's too good an opportunity to make fun of her...)

Kuwait was a debacle. If we'd done what needed to be done then, we wouldn't be doing it now. As for the other wars, contextually it's obvious she meant American wars. And yes, Democrats were in charge, and it's arguable that we didn't HAVE to be involved in any of them. Certainly our entry in both world wars was engineered. And if, as Cindy says, we have no business fighting anti-Semitic terrorists bent on world conquest in Iraq, then we equally had no business fighting the same thing in Europe. In which case, I wouldn't be writing this to your ashes, and if I did, it would be in German.
