Your last experience at Case...months of extended aggrevation
Nothing ruins the warm-fuzzy memories you have for your alma mater faster than having to deal with incompetent administrative issues that drag on months after you graduate. Yes, universities are known for this, but the people I’ve had to deal with in the Controller’s office have taken incompetence to a new level; almost to the point I suspect it to be intentional. Imagine getting a tuition bill after you graduate, even though your department covers your tuition. You make the appropriate phone calls, the letter of assistance goes out, and you are told it is taken care of. Now imagine repeating this process four more times, steadily getting more frustrated at each step. Then, after talking to someone you think can finally help, you get a notice indicating that your account has been turned over to collections. This has been my experience with the student accounts department. I won’t even get into my experiences with the payroll department. It makes me wonder exactly what the Controller is controlling. Now, imaging the venom I will spew if anyone from the alumni center calls asking me for a donation!
