In other news, I have no idea where I'll be a year from now. Here's what I'm looking at:

working at NASA (I'd have to get past a hiring freeze though)

staying at Case under NASA funding and taking classes

staying at Case under other funding and doing computational fluids research and possibly teaching classes

going off to University of Texas or Stanford and getting a PhD sooner than I planned

Anyway... I'm off to NASA. There'll be a newer version of my thesis up soon (I can't believe people have actually been checking it out)

So far this winter all I've managed to really go out an do is climb at the rock gym. Its been great, but TJ and I really need to get out somewhere and do something. My new backpack is sitting in the basement of my house collecting dust.

Here are the grand plans for the year:

Skiiing - Now that there's snow, I'd like to get some XC in at Brecksville or something. Maybe I'll go with Tammy sometime to do downhill too.

Backpacking - TJ and I are looking for a big trip late summer/autumn, probably with the Sierra Club. I'd love to spend a week in a canyon in Arizona or Utah with my new pack and some rock shoes and do nothing but hike and boulder for 7 days. In the meantime, as soon as it gets warmer I'm putting together a smaller trip in PA or southern OH. Rock shoes included.

Climbing - hopefully between Scott and people from the rock gym TJ and I will have plenty of trips to Hinckley and West Virginia. Maybe, if things work out right, I'll make a trip out to CA to do some serious climbing.

Case is supposedly building a climbing wall in Veale. It'll be interesting to check that out. I've also heard of a climbing club, but I've never noticed at the rock gym if they come.

Oh and in the meantime:

Wow... Case has started to do some pretty nifty things computer-wise. I'm not sure what I'll use this for, but hey, its interesting.

Just about everything has been working lately. Its quite wonderful. Even the things that I've massively screwed up on lately (and there were a few), ended up turning out okay.

Writing is starting to get old, but hey, I probably only have a week or two left of serious work before I move to an editing stage (which will mostly consist of waiting for people).

Anyway... enough of this distraction...
