Laptops

David had posted a blog about wanting to use wireless in the airport but it was so expensive that he just typed his blog in word then posted it.. so this reminded me of a story last year...

boy just had to go shut my window the wind is loud at almost 3 am! and there's so much snow.. okay im done with the sidebar..

anyway last year one time i met my mom in pittsburgh for a little weekend get together/break.. i took the greyhound since i didnt have a car on campus last year, and met her at a hotel.. we shopped and had fun,, but i didnt book my returning greyhound ticket because i didnt know what day i would be leaving yet.. so i brought my computer since it said there was free high speed internet access in the hotel..

so being me having a good time with my mom i didnt try to book the ticket until the night before.. turns out all systems were down.. the front desk couldnt access any of there information either.. luckily (here is comes!) there was a starbucks at the hotel too! sooo they had wireless as well! so i went in there some guy tried to help me and then i bought like 30 minutes for 6 bucks (something like that) i was like i dont care how much it costs i have to get back to school..so i got it all worked out but it was quite the evening..

i guess to keep telling the story so im complete.. the next day the hotel called a taxi for me to take me to the greyhound but the taxi ended up not showing.. so one of the shuttle boys who takes you two your car i guess? and to shopping i think? went beyong the boundaries and went downtown to the station.. me however only have one dollar lol for a tip everything else was too big and i felt horrible.. a girls gotta have money to eat doesnt she? :o)

My Cell Phone

So this might sound a little strange but i'm going to tell this story anyway. Today before class I went into the ladies room. Like usual, i had my phone hooked onto my pants so i unhooked it and set it down on the toilet paper roll dispenser. Needless today i didn't pick it back up. I go up to class, class is finished, and i walk back with my friend. Not until my friend leaves for his building and i continued to my building walking alone did i try and find the cell phone to call or text my boyfriend.
So i was like crap i left it in class, then i thought that that couldn't be it, so i made my mind rewind a bit more. I finally thought of the restroom so i hurried up and called my advisor (with my friends phone) who's office is right beside where we just had class and 2 floors above where i left it. So she went and looked for me. She called back and said it wasnt there.
I was very sad and she said that this had happened to her daughter and encouraged me to call places to see if there's a lost and found and to call security, but in the meantime to call the phone company and get a temporary hold on my phone. (The person who took her daughters phone was calling internationally raising the bill significantly!).. so i started to look up the appropriate phone numbers when my suitemates phone rang again! she quickly handed my the phone and it was her. She was leaving to go home and she saw a cleaning lady. she thought she'd ask her about the phone. So the cleaning lady had not, but the cleaning lady's friend another cleaning lady had found it!!!! So now it is securely in my advisors desk in her locked office and i will get it at work tomorrow :o) Happy Girl i am.
It been kinda nice though not having the phone ring and enjoying the use of one less technology.

anyone wanna do it for me?

Also how do i keep my computer healthy so it doesnt happen again?

Elevators

So awhile back our elevator was broken for 3 days straight without someone fixing it--our elevator breaks a lot. So i was in the elevator chatting with a girl and she said that this year her boyfriend was in the elevator and it fell from the 5th floor to the basement.. i have also heard that it has done this years before.

The very same day i went to Health Services and their elevator was broken too, what is my luck.

I came back that day and ours was fixed.

Also, we just had a fire alarm the other night, and being how im on the 9th floor when the firemen said we could come back in we got on the elevator. Well the red light was still on because of the firecall and the elevator wouldnt work. We waited for awhile but then my friend emily and i just walked up the steps instead..i dont know how long it took to get the signal back to the elevator telling it was safe to ride on again.

Oh elevators we cant live with them, and we cant live without them.

Flightplan

I saw Flightplan (i think it was the first weekend it came out too). It had a double decker plane (2 stories) and it was very luxurious and it had a bar and everything. I asked my boyfriend if these are real planes and he said of course! He rode on one from Philly to Amsterdam. I didnt relize they actually made double deckers. The engines in the plane could fit a school bus it was seriously amazing. I thought this movie was very interesting and great.

I wonder what the bigger airplane is ever?

This also brings up the technology of movies. Everything on the movie seemed so real. Recently i have also seen Flightplan, Saw II, Red Dragon, and Silence of the Lambs (all scary i know)--but the technology in the movies adds to how those movies scare us--everything from the sets, effects, makeup, and acting make movies come to real life.

Multimedia and the Internet.. From Internet Galaxy

I meant to post this awhile ago (like when we were reading about this)...

Fall Back

Just a quick entry..
I very much enjoyed that my computer did "fall back" by itself and changed its time. I thought to myself ohh i bet my phone did too. So i look and it wasnt! I really though it would be smarter than that! So now i must figure that out :o) Just thought id mention it real fast.
