Managing Larger Companies

One thing that also came up during my interview with Ms. Walsh was the direct interaction employees had with the management. She mentioned that in larger companies, such as Quicken Loans, employees rarely, if ever, have any direct interaction with their managers. She felt that this direct interaction was a good thing. During this conversation, I was thinking to myself that I had heard that Quicken Loans was supposed to be one of the best companies to work for in America. I wonder if having more direct interaction with managers in larger companies is a good or bad thing. Does anybody have any thoughts on this matter?
