The Class as a whole

I never imagined I would learn so much about myself in a class that bases it's texts on learning about other people. When learning about how to manage others, we learned how to manage ourselves as well. This class has been very effective! We have learned how to trust, how to deligate to, and how to give feedback to our classmates. It has been very insiteful and enjoyable.

Final Simulation Project

I found it very hard to stop the HR simulation. Our team had grown so close and enjoyed not only working together, but eachother's company. It will be odd to not meet with them three times a week (class and our meeting), and to not corespond with them via email. I look forward to seeing them again next semester, and to hopefully have the opportunity to work with them again.

Learning Plan Part II

I find the learning plan part II more difficult than part one. It is not hard to talk about yourself and how you view yourself, but when it comes to make goals, that is very frightening! I fear that once they are on paper, they are real. Once they are real, I have to act on them and complete them. That is very scary to think about, and even scarier to act on.

Tom Mendola

I would fire Tom. I believe in feedback, and in second chances, but it is evident that Tom is not ready for the workforce. I understand that he has a family to feed, but if his maturity is truly at the level that he cares a lot about the wellbeing of his family, we would expect better work out of him, or any work for that matter. He is not doing his job, but he is also distracting others from doing their work.

Career Center

I think it has been wonderful that Mgmt 250 has introduced us to the career center. Since our primary introduction, I have taken advantage of the support and resources down at their center. I truly enjoyed the excersize that Patrick Keebler did with us the other day. I liked how he showed us that even though we are all management students, we all have different interestes and talents.

Career Center

Patrick from the Career Center gave us a lot of good information today. It did frighten me for when my job search comes around. It's hard to try to gage whether to hold out for the job you want, or to take a job that you are offered. I suppose when the time comes, I'll have had this whole process figured out ... hopefully!

HR Simulation

I never realized how difficult this simulation would be. It's hard to try to figure out what problems could arise in the company before they actually happen! The benifits are great though. I have a wonderful team, who each have their own strengths, and we have learned a lot so far, not only from the simluation, but from eachother.
