Interesting decision. We sometimes challenge laser or radar evidence in NY traffic courts on the issue of calibration. There's a case, People v. Knight, where the highest state court upheld radar, but mentioned it was doing so because evidence showing proper calibration was submitted by the prosecution. Sometimes they have trouble with it though. Most times we just make deals in traffic court, but sometimes it's more fun.
