LEGISinfo is the Canadian Library of Parliament's site where one can obtain "information on legislation currently before Parliament." Its coverage is from January 2001 to the present.
Like the Library of Congress's THOMAS, LEGISinfo allows the user to search by bill number or title keyword. Unlike THOMAS, LEGISinfo gives the user links to numericals lists of bills, so the user can browse current legislation. LEGISinfo does not appear to have the functionality to search a bill by sponsor, as THOMAS does.

Each Thanksgiving since 1947, the President has issued a pardon for the National Thanksgiving Turkey.
The Bush Administration has a web page, Thanksgiving at the White House, which contains historical information about the National Thanksgiving Turkey presentation. There is also a link to a Photo Essay containing pictures of National Thanksgiving Turkey presentations involving presidents Truman, Kennedy, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush.
What is particularly interesting about this is that after the president pardoned the National Thanksgiving turkey, other turkeys weren't so fortunate: 2007 Thanksgiving Menu at Camp David, 2006 Thanksgiving Menu at Camp David, 2005 Thanksgiving Menu at Prairie Chapel Ranch...

The United States Government has many sources of information about other countries. Two of my favorites are the State Department's Background Notes and the CIA World Factbook Both of these sources contain information about the people, economy, politics, and geography of the countries. In addition to information about countries, the Factbook has information about "locations," such as oceans and Antarctica.

A few months ago, someone in the library remarked that Congress was wasting time investigating drugs in professional baseball when there were more important issues that needed investigation. Many people do not realize that the hearings about which one hears in the media are only a small fraction of what Congress does.
Here is a small sample of the Congressional hearings titles the library has received recently:
Gasoline prices, oil company profits, and the American consumer (SuDoc number: Y 4.C 73/8:110-51)
America's public debt: How do we keep it from rising? (SuDoc number: Y 4.F 49:S.HRG.109-985)
The passport backlog and the State Department's response to the Western Hemisphere Travel initiative (SuDoc number: Y 4.F 76/2:S.HRG.110-177)
Is OSHA working for working people? (SuDoc number: Y 4.L 11/4:S.HRG.110-40)
Green transportation infrastructure : challenges to access and implementation (SuDoc number: Y 4.SCI 2:110-27)
Protections for foster children enrolled in clinical trials (SuDoc number: Y 4.W 36:109-8)

According to GPO, Volumes of the 2006 U.S. Code "are beginning to arrive in GPO's Library Services unit and are being prepared for shipment."
Our library should have the first two volumes, Volume 1 (Organic Laws, Title 1 to Title 5) and Volume 2 (Title 5 to Title 7) on the shelf by the middle of next month. When we receive them, they will be entered in the check-in record, which can be viewed in the library's online catalog (link to record above).

Though it is not a government document itself, the goal of ALA GODORT's State Agency Databases wiki is to "pull together all publicly accessible state agency databases." Some states are more complete than others, but Ohio is among the more complete ones.
