HR simulation

This week's Human Resource simulation was incident F which was taking into account decisions related to sexual harassment. I must say, I do not even know how this is still sadly an issue in the 21st century. The first world is bragging about how modern everything is, how equality is a fundamental factor in every social interacting situation, but when it comes to reality, we see sexual harassment issues occuring in a high precentage of working environments, and this tells me that there is still a long way to complete before we really achive true equality and modernism in our small world.

I completely agree with your blog. It is amazing, and truly sad, that issues such as sexual harrassment are still problems in the workplace. I, too, didn't really put this idea into perspective until completing Incident F. I found it interesting that companies must decided how much money they need to invest in sexual harrassment programs to combat the problem. Option 5 required spending $10,000, which seems like a huge sum of money to create a training program based on what should be common sense. Why is it so hard for people to avoid participating in sexual harrassment in the workplace and why, after thousands of dollars have been spend on sexual harrassment training programs, is it still a problem?

I disagree. I believe this will always be an issue in any organization. It is rooted very deep in our psyche to procreate. People will always be sexual beings, and there will always be a portion of the population that cannot always control themselves in the workplace. At least as a more optimistic view, the practices of ignoring sexual harassment in the past are starting to end, and companies are finally putting emphasis and money in to stop it. I'd say we are finally making progress.
