MIDS 301 First Posting
Welcome to my introductory MIDS 301 posting.
The purpose of this first post is to give you, the reader, a bried overview of what I hope to achieve by creating this blog. Firstly, I would like to say that I have not had much prior experience in the IT field prior to taking this class.
Throughout the semester I will encounter a vast multitude of topics that span the entire field. Just in the first week I learned about several types of network protocols such as bluetooth, ethernet, and firewire. Beyond that we discussed the differences between LANs and WANs. There was an interesting slide presented on the different ways you could connect nodes to a network for maximum efficiency and security. I particularly enjoyed the concept of visualizing the nodes to see the "map" of the network.
During the course of this blog I hope to provide an in depth reflection of the materials presented to me and how they affect me in the real world. In the coming weeks, you can expect to see weekly postings discussing various topic applications. Thank you for taking the time out to read my blog.
