Marcus S. Owens served as director of the Exempt Organizations Division of the Internal Revenue Service for ten years prior to joining the Washington, D.C., office of Caplin & Drysdale in 2000. In 1998, 1999 and 2001, he was selected by The Nonprofit Times as one of the top 50 most influential people in the nonprofit sector. He now represents a broad range of nonprofit organizations and is a frequent lecturer on the complex laws affecting exempt organizations.
