I thought “why should I write down my strengths, weaknesses and goals when I already know what they are”? After completing the learning plan I realized that writing things down is very helpful in analyzing what my goals truly are. The learning plan helped me focus on three goals and make a step by step schedule so that I could accomplish them.       <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The HR Stimulation was a great experience for me. Getting started was a bit rough but after looking at different examples from the manual, the process of completing the budget forms became clearer. I found it sensible by not giving the teams a step by step instruction guide on how to get started because not knowing how the stimulation worked brought my team closer. We helped each other and together made sense of how the stimulation functioned. I only hope that for future classes there is an actual chart which compares companies in order to see how well the your own company is performing compared to the others. </p>]]></content:encoded>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I believe that Tom Mendola should be fired because not only is he performing poorly; he is disruptive to others in the company as well. Being forced to quite school and work is not easy for a young individual. That is why I would go the extra mile to talk to a school counselor about his situation. The school counselor would try to find him a work/study program that his school offers so that he can acquire a high school education as well as earn money for his family. I feel that Tom should be given a chance to further his education so he does not spend his adult life working in an industry that does not pay well. If Tom has a high-school diploma he will be paid quite a bit more than if he did not have a diploma. Tom has potential to be a successful individual but he needs time to grow and develop his skills. That is why I would encourage him to continue high-school. </p>]]></content:encoded>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The incident reports were a great addition to the HR Stimulation. It allowed my team to discuss different situations that could occur in an actual work place. I enjoyed discussing the different situations and listening to other opinions. After discussing the budget which deals with figures, addition and subtraction of numbers, discussing the incident was a good change. I liked how the HR Stimulation wasn’t solely based on numbers. It integrated both incidents that could happen at work as well as budgets. </p>]]></content:encoded>

The situation needed to be discussed calmly in a meeting, not over the phone. Jonah should have spoken to a lawyer to see if he had a strong enough case to permanently change the racial issue. When put into this type of situation one might not be able to think straight because of the many thoughts going through his/her mind.       <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We recently discussed the topic of feedback in management. I believe <br />
that anyone can give positive or negative feedback to a coworker or <br />
employee. The difficult issue about giving feedback is how well one <br />
can communicate the constructive criticism to the individual being <br />
evaluated. Feedback is only affective if the information is <br />
communicated well. When evaluating an individual, one should be sure to <br />
include positive comments, to reinforce the employees’ commendable <br />
effort. The feedback given should not consist of all criticism. By <br />
including positive comments with the constructive criticism it allows <br />
the employee to feel that they can improve. They are emotionally and <br />
mentally able to think that they will be able to improve because they <br />
do not feel overwhelmed about all of the constructive criticism that <br />
they are given. </p>

<p>However there are special situations where someone might do poorly <br />
in the company and in that case there might not be a positive comment. <br />
That is when the facts just have to be said in a straight forward <br />
manner, so the issue can be resolved quickly.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[After completing the learning style inventory, I discovered that my learning style is an accommodator. Accommodators have the greatest strength in carrying out plans and tasks. They are risk takers, opportunity seeking and action hungry people. Accommodators tend to solve problems in an intuitive trial and error method. They tend to rely on others information rather than their own analytical ability. Accommodators do get along with others but they sometimes come across as being pushy and impatient. Although the learning style does describe my typical behavior there are some differences. For example I make schedules for myself and get things accomplished. I don’t set impractical plans because I have learned that by doing that I don’t accomplish anything. ]]></content:encoded>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[One day the class discussion was whether it was beneficial to have an 
older professor or younger one. I would rather have an older professor instead of ayounger professor because an older professor has more experience. He/She would know what students have more trouble understanding and the general pace that they should teach at so that the class learns the material well. A younger professor might not know what students would have more trouble with and end up flying through material. In that sense older professors have more experience and would give the students more input on certain issues because they have dealt with them before.

interesting. I had a great time talking with other people and enjoyed learning a little bit more about some of the other students. For example their majors and what they plan on doing after they graduate. Amy from the career center was very helpful she talked about the resume emergency room and meeting with alumni. She also gave tips on how to answer difficult interview questions which was very helpful. <br />

discussing the various issues listed on the handout received in class. The main problem for our team is that everyone is involved in many extracurricular activities and meeting together seems difficult. Recently we met together and figured out a time when it seemed most convenient for everyone. Also we will use different types of communication to stay in contact with each other such as phone, instant messenger and email. We have also discussed conducting meetings during the weekend, so that different class schedules are not an issue. <br />
