NEO CANDO Update: 2005 Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) Data

Home Mortgage Disclosure data (HMDA) for 2005 have been added to NEO CANDO for all 17 counties. These data are available at the tract level and the county level for non Cuyahoga counties. In Cuyahoga County these data area available at the Neighborhood, DCFS Geodistrict, Cleveland Planning District, Township (MCD) or City/Village level.


Use this data to find the number and percent of loans originated by a subprime lender for home purchase loans. To do this:

1. Go to the Social and Economic Data section
2. Select "Mortgage Lending – HMDA" as your subject category (box 1)
3. Select "HMDA – Home purchase loans" as your detailed category (box 2)
4. Select "HMDA – Conventional loans" as your detailed category filter (box 2a)
5. Select the year, or years your are interested in (box 2b)
6. Select your county (box 3)
7. Select your geographic level (box 4)
8. Select you geographic entities (box 5)
9. Select your report by geography (box 6)
10. click "next"
11. On the section page select the variables "Conventional home purchase loans by subprime lenders, number" and "Conventional home purchase loans by subprime lenders, percent" for the years you are interested in.
12. Click "get data"

These data are also available for home improvement loans, refinancing loans, and multifamily loans.
