Seasoned practitioners and students alike can learn from this relevant presentation as the nation today uncomfortably seeks its role in the international community. The third annual Grace Coyle Lecture, co-sponsored by the Mandel School, CWRU and AASWG will feature Jurgen Kalcher, Professor Emeritus at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Professor Kalcher will talk about the state of social work in the post war period in both the U S and Germany. Gisela Konopka, prominent in American Group Work, led US social workers to assist their German counterparts in organizing youth training programs after World War II. Their combined efforts helped democratize the German social work system and set the tone for aiding post-war Germany.
