The Gallery @ MSASS Features Chris Zielski
Exhibit Dates: September 17, 2007 - November 16, 2007.
Chris Zielski uses soft metal plates as her canvas, which have been engraved and/or etched and then painted with a lacquer coating. Her art work captures a blend of organic and geometric textures that are arranged and mounted on wood to create striking collages.
The collages are visually calming. She achieves this through repetition, layering of textures and colors. The colors of red oxide, cobalt green and cerulean blue coat the surfaces of her works. She compares her work to “…a fine wine. It has lots of ‘overtones’ and ‘hints’ of one thing or another.”
Ms. Zielski strives to work with environmentally friendly and nontoxic art methods. Her work is for sale and on display until November 16, 2007.
