Legal and Ethical Issues in Counseling, Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapy

Presenter: William L. Hegarty, J.D. Deputy Director, Ohio Counselor, Social Worker on the Marriage & Family Therapist Board. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Emory University School of Law.
Fee: $60
Location: MSASS

This workshop will prepare mental health professionals to think in an ethical and moral manner in all of their professional activities.

As a result of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the role of a state regulatory board.

  • Explain the new ethical rules that are in place.

  • Recognize the role of the investigative/disciplinary board.

  • Debate issues that will hopefully prevent licensees from violating the code of professional conduct.
