Meet the Artist Brown Bag Lunch - February 14, 12:30 p.m.,

The Mandel School is pleased to display the works of painter Charles Jackson Pinkney. The exhibition of 30 paintings focuses on landscapes done inside the Cleveland Metroparks otherwise known as the “Emerald Necklace,” and also includes still life and portraits.
Charles uses the Alla Prima technique that results in images characterized by vivid colors and bold brush strokes. Charles’s formal training began in the Cleveland Museum of Art and at Glenville High School. He continued his artistic training at Cuyahoga Community College, Kent State University, Cooper School of Art, Karamu House, and Cleveland State University. Charles has participated in workshops, exhibitions and seminars throughout the United States and is a member of the portrait Society of America.
In Southern California, Charles co-founded the San Diego Portrait Society with Perritta Hester, has studied at The Athenaeum in La Jolla and was trained as a classic Alla Prima painter with Don Sebastian Capella. Charles currently paints in his studio at the Fine Art Society Atelier, near Shaker Square. His paintings are in collections locally and around the world.
The exhibit is on view at the first two floors of the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences located on 11235 Bellflower Road by the corner of Ford and Bellflower on the Case Western Reserve University campus. Building hours are Monday through Friday 8:30a.m. - 5 p.m.
