In this Update:
The Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) Data in NEO CANDO have a new look!
Beginning with the 2004 data, indicators are now available by race and income category. In addition, loans with rate spread have also been included.
Historical data going to back to 1995 continue to provide information about loan applications, originations, and denials.
The updated variable list and documentation contain more details about all of the HMDA indicators now available in NEO CANDO and how they are defined and calculated.
HMDA data are provided for the census tracts in all seventeen counties in NEO CANDO. In Cuyahoga County, the data can be downloaded for a variety of geographic areas.
The map below shows the percent of home purchase loans originated by neighborhood in Cuyahoga County. The pie charts illustrate (1) what proportion of the home purchase loans originated with rate spreads, and (2) how the rate spread loans were distributed by race. Note: The percent of home purchase loans originated is calculated as: home purchase loans originated/home purchase loan applications X 100.
