NEO CANDO Updates: Social and Economic Data

    2008 Population Estimates
    Nine of the seventeen counties in NEO CANDO experienced total population increases between 2000 and 2008 (Ashland, Geauga, Huron, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark, and Wayne counties). Medina County, with an increase of more than 13%, had the biggest gains.

    Cuyahoga and Mahoning counties had the greatest population loss, with a decrease of nearly 8% between 2000 and 2008. Other counties with losses included Ashtabula, Columbiana, Erie, Richland, Summit and Trumbull.

    2009 Quarter 2 USPS Vacancy Data
    In the 2nd Quarter of 2009, USPS residential address vacancy rates for Cuyahoga County and the City of Cleveland were 6% and 11%, respectively. The map below illustrates residential address vacancy rate for Cuyahoga County by Cleveland SPAs and suburban municipalities.
