July 2009 Public Assistance Data
Public Assistance data include indicators for Cash Assistance, Medicaid, and Food Stamps. The data are updated quarterly, and are available for Cuyahoga County, and its sub-geographies, from 1997 to 2009.

2008 Crime Data
2008 crime data from the Cleveland Police are now available. Compared to 2007, there was a decrease in the number of Part I Crimes, from 34,275 in 2007 to 31,952 in 2008 (a decline of 6.8%). The Part I, or Index, Crimes include violent crimes (homicide, rape, robbery, and aggravated assaults), and property crimes (burglary, larceny-theft, auto theft, and arson).
Similarly, there were 6.0% fewer Part II Crimes in Cleveland in 2008 -- 36,189 in 2007 compared to 34,006 in 2008. Part II crimes include everything that is not a violent or property crime. Examples include non-aggravated assaults, vandalism, weapons violations, and drug violations.
Please note that beginning in 1999, we used Cuyahoga County Coroner data to determine the number of homicides in Cleveland. According to the police, the Coroner may have a more accurate count of homicides in their system. Comparing to 2007, homicide count decreased 25.4% from 130 in 2007 to 97 in 2008. 2008-2009 Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) Enrollment and Attendance Data
The CMSD indicators have been updated with the 2008-2009 school year data. The graph below illustrates the decline in student enrollment from school years 1995-1996 to 2008-2009.

2007 Business Patterns Data
The Business Patterns data provide information about the total number of employees, payroll, and the number of establishments by the number of employees. Additional information is also available for selected industries.
Business Patterns data are provided for the seventeen counties in NEO CANDO, and for Zip Code Tabulation Areas in each of those counties. The data are available yearly from 1998 to 2007. For more information about Business Patterns data, visit http://neocando.case.edu.
NEO CANDO, Northeast Ohio Community and Neighborhood Data for Organizing, is a free and publicly accessible social and economic data system of the Center on Urban Poverty and Community Development. NEO CANDO allows users to access data for the entire 17 county Northeast Ohio region, or for specific neighborhoods within Cleveland.
