Breezy Snyder - Artist

breezy_photo_small.jpg
Breezy Snyder is a second year painting student at the Cleveland Institute of Arts. Her exhibit “Destiny of Dandelions” is her first solo debut in the Cleveland art community. Each ink drawing captivates the viewer’s mind; it is like poetry on paper.

Ms. Snyder’s technique involves dropping ink on paper and blowing air through a straw, which disperses the ink in surprising ways. This technique can have surprising results. Her works are elegant, magical, and playful! According to Ms. Snyder, “As each seed is blown from a dandelion clock, the wind carries it along its destined path. I am able to convey this idea by planting a drop of ink onto the paper, and then with a lively gust of air through a straw, the paths we so easily question in life are set in motion. This lively action shows where the journey begins and ends, with the many options destiny provides in between.”

Ms. Snyder’s works are on display at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences on the first and second floors. The work will be up for viewing through January 15, 2010.

Please contact June Hund and Kristen Kirchgesler at (216) 368-2302 or at artonthewalls@case.edu for more information about the exhibit.
