Bridget Ginley's art work interplay with the elements of her daily existence. She is a painter, printmaker, and mixed-media visual artist. Shapes, color, form, and balance emerge from the work; they are playful and purposeful. She works with oils, watercolors, graphite, and found materials. Ripping and sanding her works until the image appears as she wants.
As her work has developed over the past few years, she has started to “…incorporate collage elements into the work: (by using) dirt; notebook (paper); coffee grounds; datebook pages; & cutout maps of Northeast Ohio to create an additional sense of space and location...I find great beauty in Cleveland, even on its visually gloomy or physically oppressive days…”
She is a native Clevelander; she lives at an artist’s loft in an old factory near “dead man’s curve”. She earned her BFA in painting from Kent State University in 2004.
