The Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences is one of seven U.S. schools recently selected to help build social work education programs in China over the next five years. MSASS was chosen from 215 U.S. schools with accredited graduate social work programs.
The partnership will assist China in preparing and graduating 3 million professional social workers by 2020. Distinguished University Professor M.C. "Terry” Hokenstad" will lead the Mandel School's participation in the project along with Mandel School faculty members Kathleen Farkas, David Miller and Zoe Breen Wood.
"Our selection is a recognition of both the quality of our own education program and our cultural competence in working with international partners," said Mandel School Dean Grover C. Gilmore. U.S. News & World Report ranks the Mandel School ninth in social work schools. More
