International student group presents two upcoming events

2014 International globe.pngMandel School student group LINK (Local InterNational Konnections) is organizing two special events this semester.

On March 25, attend a special lecture entitled "From Ethiopia to Israel: Challenges and Successes in the Absorption of Ethiopian Jews in Israel," presented by Aviv Speigelman and Yuval Kessler, exchange students from Hebrew University. This lecture is at 12:50 to 2:00 p.m. in room 320A of the Mandel School. Lunch is provided and students receive 1 Professional Development hour for attendance.

On April 8, the LINK International Silent Auction will take over the Mandel School's third floor atrium. Students, faculty and staff are invited to browse hundreds of unique silent auction items from noon to 2pm while enjoying internationally-themed finger foods. All proceeds benefit charitable organizations specially selected by LINK student leaders.

LINK is a Mandel School student group that works to facilitate a mutual understanding and sharing of information on cultural practices, philosophies and ideologies among those throughout the world who enact the values and practices of the social work profession. This year, the LINK student coordinators are Agnes Akile and Jun Zhao.
