Evidence Based Medicine
Nobody questions today that physicians ought to be paying close attention to the recent advances in biosciences. In other words, evidence based medicine, EBM in physician slang. Everyone knows that, given the degree of egocentrism of the humankind, the best way to engage someone in an activity is by participating in it; making it personal. In the research/medicine interface there is a conflict that seems to pass by unnoticed.
The question I’ve been asking to my MD colleagues is: What is the difference between a diagnosis and a hypothesis?

Graduation Requirements
   Two first-author publications is an excellent scientific standard for our graduates. I am a fierce defendant of this requirement because it creates a good perspective for our future careers. However, I don't understand how can it be a requirement without a mechanism that a student can trigger that would guarantee its accomplishment when it comes to matters beyond the student's responsibilities.
