Blog@Case News for November 2004
Blog@Case Has Gone into Limited Beta Testing
Blog@Case has gone into a limited Beta test open to ITS members. This is a big leap forward and will, hopefully, give the new system a nice shakedown.
In the future, we are hoping to add some more features such as:
- Blog-Create Wizard — this will simplify the process of creating your blog, giving your blog a personalized title and description, and picking from a selection of pre-packaged styles and templates.
- Increased FAQ entries to help define what all of these blog related technologies are and how to use them.
- More HowTo documentation on topics such as manually editing the look-and-feel of your blog, using Trackback and QuickPost, how to use RSS, how to create a LinkBlog or integrate with the del.icio.us bookmark web service, how to upload and show digital pictures or use the Flickr web service and integrate it into your blog. Stay tuned to the Demo Blog for examples on these.
- Create "Topic Arenas" which will aggregate entries from the entire Blog@Case system that discuss the same or related material. For example, "Topic Areas" for Law or Political Science or Technology which pull all the entries from all over the Blog@Case system and display them in one area.
The possibilities are quite endless, and we are excited to explore them!
Until then, please enjoy the limited Beta test.
New Styles
Irene created new stylesheets to improve the look and feel of the Blog@Case front pages. The new stylesheets were promptly applied.
Enjoy the new look!
Blog@Case is Open for Alpha Testing
Blog@Case is open for Alpha testing. The chosen few can now begin finding out what is wrong with it.
While you're playing, please be sure to notice the exquisite CSS design, beautiful and clean Semantic Markup, and completely valid XHTML. Notice the nice, clean URLs, too.
