Original Leaves from Famous Books collection available

A new image collection is available of original leaves and captions as collection by Otto Ege from famous books, dating between 1122 A.D. - 1923 A.D. A few examples include: The Koran Manuscript (1122, printed in Cairo), Livy's The History of Rome (1436, printed in Italy), and Erasmus' Adage Printed by Jerome Froben (1528, Basle). These leaves are great examples of early printing techniques. These images are owned by Special Collections, Kelvin Smith Library, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. NEW: Case Archives Image Collection

Digital Case has just added a wonderful collection of high quality historical images organized by people, places, events & activities and things having to do with Case Western Reserve. From football games to lecture series to presidents' inaugurations, a wide range of CWRU's ceremonies, performances, scholarly and social events are represented. Currently the collection contains images only. Digitization of the University's video, audio cassette, phonograph, and film heritage, spanning over 60 years, will make this rich documentation conveniently accessible and usable in ways not previously possible. The collection contributed by the University Archives department is available as of 2:00 pm on Friday 1/10/09.
