Social Security # Goes Away!
8/30/05: Case Libraries drop the use of SS# to authenticate on the Case catalog and on the OhioLINK Central Catalog. Responding to requests to keep your personal information more secure when you work online, the Case Libraries will no longer request Social Security numbers on web pages.
Now you are prompted for your Case Account Number instead of your SS#. The Case Account Number pulls a unique number from the LDAP system, and it has no relation to grades, payroll, or other Case functions.
Lookup your Case Account Number and use it to renew books on your library account, or get remote authentication for OhioLINK resources, when your are off campus and not using VPN. More details on the KSL homepage news section.

Keep OhioLINK Books 4X Longer!
No more 21-day loan plus a 21-day renewal--people need OhioLINK books longer! One of the most important OhioLINK policy changes in the last ten years recognizes that the 21-plus-21 loan often interrupts research. Now, when what you need is not available on the 2.5 million item Case catalog, and you order it on the 44 million item OhioLINK Central Catalog, you may have up to as many as four renewals!
Owning libraries always have first call on their books when needed for Course Reserves, so occasionally a renewal request won't work. (In that case, simply order a new copy on OhioLINK, or through ILLiad Interlibrary Loan services.) While 4 renewals are not always guaranteed, most of the time you'll now be able to use OhioLINK books for a semester, instead of just 6 weeks. Maximize your research time, with OhioLINK books and more renewals!
