Rita Dove Exhibit@KSL
KSL's current exhibit on the main floor honors Pulitzer Prize winner Rita Dove, in anticipation of her visit to campus this week. From an autographed copy of her first novel, to her first full length play, to her most recent book, the exhibit shows her work and promotes her lecture Friday, September 8 at Severance Hall. The exhibit showcases her works, including On the Bus with Rosa Parks: poems, written after Rita Dove and her daughter shared a bus ride with Rosa Parks.
Rita Dove was named the 1993 Poet Laureate of the United States and Consultant to the Library of Congress, and is a native of Akron, Ohio. The Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities and SAGES (Seminar Approach to General Education and Scholarship), in conjunction with the Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards administered by the Cleveland Foundation, brings Rita Dove to Case for Friday's lecture. This 2nd Annual Anisfield-Wolf Lecture for the students, staff, and faculty of Case, is free and also open to the public. Registration is appreciated. For more information, call 216/368-8961.
