Test-Drive 3 Free Databases: Historic Annual Reports, Early English Books, Black History

Explore a few new databases that are under consideration, with free trial access this month for Black Studies Center through September 16th, and trials for both Historial Annual Reports and Early English Books Online through September 30th. ProQuest, one of our prominent information providers, is offering the trial access and KSL is interested in your feedback on quality, content, search function, and how they might benefit your work at Case. Try them out, and send your remarks to askalibrarian@case.edu

Historic Annual Reports: company, financials, officers, competitors, market trends on 800+ companies and reports back to 1845. (no password required, through 9/30/06)

EEBO (Early English Books Online): digital collection of all works printed in the UK and British North America, other works printed in English, from 1473-1700. Read from the first book printed in English, Spenser and Shakespeare, and the English Civil War. (no password required, through 9/30/06)

Black Studies Center the black experience detailed in history, literature, sociology, philosophy, religion, and political science. Schomburg Studies on the Black Experience™ provide topical studies that help define Black Studies as an academic field. Cross searching with historical backfiles of the Chicago Defender, and current scholarly journals from International Index to Black Periodicals. Eric, all the library resources are available to currently registered Case students by using the Case supplied VPN program. If you are not registered with Case, you need to see what your other institution offers.
