Call & Post Access--KSL Research Spotlight December 08

Historical files of the leading African American newspaper the Call and Post are available through one of KSL's partner libraries, Cleveland Public Library (CPL). The Call and Post brings you history from another perspective and is available from 1934-1991 in CPL news databases via a CPL library card. The December 08 KSL Research Spotlight brings you the news about the paper & how to get a CPL card, as well!

• Use the historical files of the CPL Call and Post database to look up headlines, obituaries, marriages, editorials & more, with flexible search & date options.

• Then continue reading & researching Call and Post newspaper articles (1992 to the present) through KSL's Ethnic Newswatch database subscription. Besides the Call and Post (Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati versions) you can search 279 publications of ethnic, minority, and native press.

KSL & CPL first collaborated in 2006 for the CPL@Case-KSL partnership, bringing from CPL to Case a collection of popular literature, audio books, magazines and foreign language magazines. For Case faculty, students & staff, KSL is authorized to create CPL library accounts, which also includes access to databases like the historic files of the Call and Post newspaper.

More details are available at KSL about obtaining these partner library privileges for the historical Call and Post & more.

Ethnic Newswatch access is via Case network credentials and an activated VPN connection.
