Logon to your Case library account these days & you'll see something new...or something that's not there. It's now easier to logon to your library account—all you need is your Case network ID/password, the same one you use to login to campus-protected sites, the Software Center, the staff directories, etc. Responding to the LiBQUAL survey indicating that remembering the library PIN was cumbersome, KSL investigated other options to secure your library account, dropping the Library PIN/Case Account Number combination.
Enrolled or employed at Case & have a network ID/password? Use it on the left side of the logon screen. You can login only on one side—if you're an affiliate or a guest, continue to use your Case Account Number & Library PIN, on the right side.
New technologies now let us connect our proprietary 3rd party software partners with the Case Single Signon to make this change. Implementation & testing took weeks, as well as collaboration with library staff to ensure that access would continue for various types of individuals without a network ID. As Mike Yeager, KSL Analyst Programmer II said, "I coordinated work with the KSL Tech Team, our catalog vendor and the Case LDAP group to do this. It's one less password to remember!"
PINs Are Still Valuable for Remote Access!
Yes, you'll still use a Library PIN sometimes. If you are away from your computer or traveling & need remote access to OhioLINK-only content, PIN gives you 2 hours of software-free, easy access to the OhioLINK journals & databases. (Start from the OhioLINK page and follow the prompts to identify yourself.) Stay connected—use PIN authentication from anywhere you have internet access!
Tip: Get 100% of the content that Case & OhioLINK purchase for you by using VPN since PIN only authenticates OhioLINK content.
You can logon to your account & then create or change your PIN with the "Modify your PIN" icon. Forgot your PIN & want to change it? Call KSL's Main Service Desk 368-3506—staff will delete it for you so you can login & create one today!
