We the People--Constitution Day@Case & KSL
Constitution Day is observed nationally each year on September 17th, and Case and KSL also celebrate it this year with event speakers and exhibits.
Visit the Kelvin Smith Library exhibit cases on the main floor & see books, early documents, and items like Observations on the plan of government submitted to the Federal convention in Philadelphia on the 28th of May 1787 from the KSL Special Collections Department, or political writer & activist Thomas Paine's 1792 Common Sense... "wildly popular" in its day.
Supporting the Case Annual Constitution Day Program, States' Uprising: Constitutionality of Health Care Reform held at the School of Law Moot Courtroom 4-5:30 pm, KSL includes related documents in the exhibit cases. Therein you'll see Thomas Woods' Nullification: How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century, Betsy McCaughey's Obama health law : what it says and how to overturn it, and Joseph White's Competing Solutions: American proposals and international experience.
Whether you are interested in health care, law & legislation, history, sociology, economics or political science, the program speakers on September 17 will stimulate discussion amongst the audience. The Honorable Richard Cordray, Ohio Attorney General and the Honorable Thomas Fisher, Indiana Solicitor General are both award-winning officials with experience in Supreme Court cases, and both teach in law schools (OSU, Indiana U).
Constitution Day@Case is organized by a student committee with guidance by political science faculty. The 2010 event highlights legislation as well as opposition to The Patient Protection and Affordability Act (Pub.L. 111-152), the first significant health care reform legislation in United States history. The event is open to the community on a first-come basis.

24x7 Now in Session Again
Now that the Labor Day Holiday is past, KSL once again offers 24x7 service that begins at the end of the day's Regular Business Hours. KSL welcomes anyone with research needs during Regular Business Hours—all other extended hours are reserved for currently enrolled and employed Case individuals with official ID cards.
NOTE: During 24x7 only those with official Case, CIM (fall 2010 stickers) & CIA IDs may be in KSL—no exceptions. (Family, friends, and alumni can return the next business day.) Safety in KSL during 24x7 is paramount for a successful environment. Be aware when you swipe your ID at the card readers. Do not let others come in behind you without swiping their own cards.
24x7 will operate continuously with two short interruptions for Fall Break weekend in late October & the Thanksgiving holiday. 24x7 is available through finals in December, ending on the morning of Dec. 15th, the last exam day.
