There are frequent national and global news items about solar & wind power as alternative energy sources. Come to the library for this week's Friday CWRU Public Affairs Discussion Group to hear a leading expert talk about the technologies that are required to support them, and to meet others who are interested in the smart grid future.
• September 23: Large Scale Utility Energy Storage.
Robert F. Savinell, Ph.D., George S. Dively Professor of Chemical Engineering, CWRU.
A CWRU researcher and former Dean of the Case School of Engineering, Savinell shares his thoughts on potential markets, economic benefits and the new technologies that we'll need to meet variable supply. Hear about his research program to improve performance, energy conservation & energy storage, and other environmental challenges for industry and society.
Join us every Friday at 12:30 pm in the Kelvin Smith Library 2nd floor Dampeer Room. The Center for Policy Studies encourages scholarly interactions with the university and the public in these weekly open discussion groups.
The Kelvin Smith Library location also indicates an underground parking garage for visitors (fee), and nearby metered sreet parking, as available.
