Financial Regulations & Practice--Friday Public Affairs Discussion Group
Join open discussion between esteemed guest speakers, the university, and the public, at the weekly Public Affairs Discussion Group, held on Fridays at the Kelvin Smith Library. Our November 4, 2011 topic is on the regulations proposed on the financial services industry, and how that can affect you. A practitioner and longtime participant on local boards, foundations & task forces, Michael's view is sure to spark controversy, enlighten, and engage the audience.

Reforms and regulations often have different results than planned or expected. Join us to hear more about the unexpected effects of regulation, whether it was from the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999, or the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 in response to the recent financial collapse. Learn what to look for as regulations are passed...and what they look like after they are put into practice.
Sponsored by the Center for Policy Studies, the discussions take place in the 2nd floor Dampeer Room 12:30 pm - 1: 30 pm. Visitors are welcome to take advantage of beverages and food items at the main floor Cramelot cafe in the library & bring them to the discussion.
The KSL location map also indicates an underground parking garage for visitors (fee), and nearby metered street parking, as available.
