Off the Shelf- Episode 20: Hotel Dreams with Molly Berger
I'm delighted to welcome Molly Berger to Off the Shelf for the 20th episode. Molly is associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and instructor of history here at Case Western Reserve University. If you listen in, you'll hear Molly and me discuss her book entitled Hotel Dreams: Luxury, Technology, and Urban Ambition in America, 1829-1929 published by the Johns Hopkins University Press in the spring of 2011. Her book focuses on how luxury hotels in the 19th century have come to represent the complexities of an emerging national urban culture in America.
