Alert - Changes to KSL Research Databases

Case and OhioLink are constantly striving to provide the strongest portfolio of research resources possible, within our budgetary limitations, to support teaching, learning, and research needs. In order to better achieve this goal, the OhioLINK community has agreed to cancel some database subscriptions and use those funds to upgrade current subscriptions and subscribe to new databases beginning July 1, 2006. As a result of these changes, OhioLINK and its member libraries will be able to cost-effectively provide the community with more full-text resources across a broader array of disciplines.

The following new databases will be available to all students, faculty and staff at OhioLINK member institutions: Agricola, Bibliography of Native North Americans, Computers & Applied Sciences Complete (coming July 7), Economia y Negocios, Education Research Complete (Coming July 1), Environment Index Complete (coming July 7), Evidence-Based Complementary Medicine (coming soon), Film & Television FTLI (coming late 2006), Fuente Academica, Garden, Landscape & Horticulture Index, Gender Studies Database, GLBT Life, Gongwer News Service, Insurance Periodicals Index, International Political Science Abstracts, Legal Collection, Literary Reference Center, MedicLatina, SPORTDiscus, Vente et Gestion and Women’s Studies International.

OhioLINK users will be able to access more full text from their desktops, thanks to upgrades of several current database subscriptions to: Academic Search Complete (coming in 2007), Business Source Complete, CINAHL Plus, Humanities International Complete, International Bibliography of Theater and Dance (with full text), Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts (with full text), MEDLINE (with full text) and SocINDEX (with full text).

We will cancel subscriptions to the following databases on July 1, 2006: Applied Science & Technology Abstracts, Biography Index, Biological & Agricultural Index, Book Review Digest, Business & Industry, Contemporary Authors, Contemporary Women’s Issues, Education Abstracts, Essay & General Literature Index, Humanities Abstracts, Index to Legal Periodicals and Books, Library Literature, Ohio Capitol Connection and Worldwide Political Science Abstracts.
