New, Improved, and Looking to Continue
Contributed by Nicole Sharp on 10 August 2005 at 18:17Case is gearing up for a new year, and that means that the Peer Writing Crew is already hard at work preparing. It's an exciting time. The SAGE Cafe on the first floor of Crawford is opening; we'll have some 70 SAGES First Seminars full of students to help become better writers; and we veteran Crew members are busy setting up this year's training session. We're also pleased to welcome six new Crew members this semester! I know I speak for everyone when I say that I'm looking forward to working alongside each of you.
In addition to new Crew members, new locations, and new students, we're also happy to present our new and improved weblog!
I've spent the past couple weeks working and reworking the design you see here today. This entry itself serves as something of a test entry, and I would really appreciate it if some of those who read this take a look around and test things for me. I've tested the design in IE 6 and Mozilla Firefox 1.06 in a Windows XP environment, but I'd like to know if anyone finds anything odd going on. Just drop a comment with a description of the problem and the software you're testing it in. Many thanks!
I'm also interested in hearing any ideas or requests people might have for this space. In the past, it's been used primarily as a place for weekly announcements of appointments, but I'd like to move away from that. I think it would be better to have tutors spend time writing about useful techniques, methods of solving/avoiding problems we see frequently, and good research resources. It might also be worthwhile to showcase some examples of good writing similar to what Notable Words does. Any ideas from students? Professors?
