Final Blog
This is my last blog entry for my MGMT250 class. I am unsure if blogging will be an option in MGMT251. I will most likely take it again if it is. I have enjoyed this option of the contract a lot. I may also continue to write in this blog. One good thing about continuing the blog after my class is I don't have to worry about spelling and grammar as much. Overall, the blogging was a good experience. I never even knew what a blog was before this class. Now I know a lot about them and how popular they are. I look forward to winter break and finishing finals. I hope everyone has a great vacation after finals.
Learning Plan
I turned in my final Learning Plan today. It was a good feeling to finally finish it. I spent a lot of time working on it. It ended up being 20 pages long. It was a good thing that she got rid of the page limit for the paper because I don't think I could have made my paper only 15 pages long. Overall, it was a great project. It helped me realize who I am and where I am going. I look forward to next semester and the projects it will bring.
Annual Report
We turned in our annual report for the human resource simulation today. Our paper is 18 pages long including graphs and figures. The paper was very well done. In our group we split up the work so everyone had an even amount. Our team leader then put it all together. Overall, the HR simulation was a good process. There was a lot to learn about the human resource position. I am also relieved it’s all over.
Last Class
Today was our last class of MGMT250. It was a quick class. We talked about what we learned and what could be improved. My favorite part of the class was the networking session. I had no suggestions on how to improve the class. I learned a lot throughout the management course so far. I remember learning about how body language can display a lot to another person. It is important to keep track of your eye contact, posture, space, and touching. After the debriefing, Professor Johnson came to talk to us.
Professor Poonamallee talked about the human resource simulation. We talked about what we liked and disliked. I enjoyed the whole process of learning what a human resource manager does in their position. Professor Poonamallee only talked for about 15 minutes. After she was done we all said goodbye and left the class. I can't wait untill MGMT251.
12/4/06 Class
Today in class we talked a lot about employee hiring. There are a lot of criteria one should look at before hiring an employee. We also talked about whether it’s better to hire young or old employees. In my opinion, it depends on the job. There was also talk on how to tell if an employee is honest or not. There are many different ways to check. Some ways are to call up there references, run background checks, look at their body behavior, etc. After the class we got to evaluate the MGMT250 course. I rated the course highly, but I won’t go into specifics. I have really enjoyed this course so far and look forward to MGMT251 next semester.
