Values ... some questions to consider
We did not spend nearly enough time on values and the my values exercise in our session... Perhaps we'll pick it up briefly in the Self Assessment 2 session. That said, I think there are some important discussion questions that might be worth addressing and considering in our online journal entries.
Question 1: What are values?
Question 2: What is the difference between organizational values and personal values? Are there overlaps? What are they?
Question 3: What kinds of work decisionss are influenced by your personal values?
Question 4: How do your values differ from those of an organization where you've worked?
Question 5: How do you manage conflicts between your personal values and the values of the organization or expectations of your supervisor? What about conflicts with peers or subordinates?
Question 6: What are possible relationships between your learning style and your top 10 or 5 values? You could ask the same question for the MBTI (after you receive the results).
(Possible suggestion: Start an entry and respond to one or more of the questions providing examples. When others start another entry, use the trackback feature or create a link to another person's entry right in your own entry. Some of you have started doing this and it really helps link ideas together.)
