Initial Impressions of MGMT 250

After my first few weeks of class, I realize now that I did not really know too much about management.

After reading the various chapters out of Dessler such as the ones on interviewing, ethics, and equal employment I have developed a different view of management. I now see the different features of management such as the intricate aspects and rules concerning ethics and the different laws and politics involved in managing people. This has raised a certain level of optimism and confidence in me when thinking about my abilities as a manager. This is because I do not mind those boring subjects unlike others in my field whom I am sure do mind those same subjects. In many cases, I actually enjoy those boring subjects. As an undeclared major, these first few weeks have made a good first impression on me and I hope that this class decisively establishes my choice of major.
