                <p>To all people to whom these presents shall<unclear reason="illegible" resp="#sxc"
                    cert="low">[come]</unclear>greeting. Whereas we <persName ref="personography.xml#john_caldwell">John
                        Caldwell</persName>
                    <persName ref="personography.xml#john_morgan">John Morgan</persName> and <persName ref="personography.xml#j_brace">Jonth Brace</persName> being
                    masters for the <orgName ref="personography.xml#clc">Connecticut Land Company</orgName> as by indentures made the <date>5th day
                        of September AD 1795</date> between the Purchases of the Connecticut Western
                    Reserve of the first part &#38;we the said <persName ref="personography.xml#john_caldwell">Caldwell</persName>
                    <persName>Morgan</persName> &#38;<persName ref="personography.xml#j_brace">Brace</persName> of the second part
                    reference then to bring had will fully appear. Deed whereas in purchases of the
                    constitution votes and proceeding of said Company reference thereto being had a
                    sale of certain made and lots of land herein after described in the City and
                    <placeName>Township of Cleveland</placeName> in the county of <placeName ref="placeography.xml#trumbull">Trumbull</placeName> in the
                    Territory North west of the River Ohio has been made by the Director of said
                    Company to <persName ref="personography.xml#samuel_huntington">Samuel Huntington Esq.</persName> or the same town of
                    Cleveland and in virtue of said sale the said <persName ref="personography.xml#samuel_huntington">Samuel
                        Huntington</persName> has become entitled to receive from us the said
                    trustees a conveyance of all our legal estate and interest in &#38;to said
                    tracts &#38;lots of land. Therefore we the said <persName>John
                        Caldwell</persName>, <persName ref="personography.xml#john_morgan">John Morgan</persName> &#38;<persName ref="personography.xml#j_brace">Jonth
                        Brace</persName> in execution &#38;fulfilment of the trust <unclear
                        reason="illegible" resp="#sxc" cert="low">[vistia]</unclear> in us as
                    aforesaid do hereby <unclear reason="illegible" resp="#sxc" cert="low">[nick
                        &#38;lease]</unclear> quit claim &#38;certify to the said <persName ref="personography.xml#samuel_huntington">Samuel
                        Huntington</persName>. To his heirs&#38;assigns the following boats&#38;lots
                    of land lying and situate in said Township &#38;city of Cleveland viz. Our part
                    or parcel butting <unclear reason="illegible" resp="#sxc" cert="low"
                        >[masterly]</unclear> on the City Lots containing one hundred &#38;ten acres
                    &#38;sixty rods of land &#38;bounded as follows big; Beginning at the north west
                    corner of ten

                    bank of the lake thence South past to the middle road leading from Huron Shed
                    through the ten acre lots thence Eastwardly along said road to the south East
                    corner of lot No 76. thence northwardly in the line of said lot to the north
                    East corner of lot <add place="supralinear">to</add> 76 thence<del
                        rend="strikethrough">[Nince]</del>Eastwardly to the south East corner of lot
                    No 104. thence north 34<add place="superscript">0</add> west to the south shore.
                    Being the north east corner of lot No 136 thence westwardly on the laks shore
                    butting ou the lake to the first mentioned boundary</p>
                <p> also one other tract or parcel of land containing seventy two acres and fifty
                    three rods of land and bounded as follows viz. beginning at the north East
                    corner of lot No 74 in the city of Cleveland. thence running south 34<add
                        place="superscript">0</add> West eighteen rods. Thence south 64<add
                        place="superscript">0</add> west seventy six rods thence south 26<add
                        place="superscript">0</add> west fifty rods to a white ash pole marked
                    thence west seventy six rods to the River Cuyahoga thence up said River on the
                    bank following the causes &#38; meanderings of said River until it intersects
                    the north line of Huron Street. Thence Eastwardly on said line on said line
                    until it strikes the west line of Ontario Street, thence northwardly on said
                    street to the great square. Thence butting northwardly on said square to the
                    south west corner then of. Thence butting Eastwardly on said square until it
                    strikes Superior Street. Thence westwardly on said street to the just mentioned
                    excluding from the aforementioned &#38;described parcel of lands lots No 77
                    &#38; No 79 and any part of <unclear reason="illegible" resp="#sxc" cert="low"
                        >Qingara</unclear> lane that may be included in said ad-measurement, and
                    wanted for public use. <pb n="[3]" facs="wrhsms02039-00003.jp2"/> forty acres
                    &#38;forty two rods of the east described piece of land lies and it situated in
                    the great land or peninsula of the Cuyahoga&#38;without the bounds of the city.
                    remaining twenty two acres &#38;eleven rods lies within the city &#38;include
                        <unclear reason="illegible" resp="#sxc" cert="low">MaidewLaw</unclear>. also
                    one other piece or parcel of land containing seventeen acres&#38;forty seven
                    rods including &#38;comprising city lots No 1 No 2&#38; No 3 butting west on
                    water street south on Lake Street. East on lot No 4 &#38; north on the lake and
                    lots No 191, No 192, No 193 &#38;No 194. Butting Eastwardly on Water Street
                    &#38; westwardly on Cuyahoga River. The several rods &#38;parcels of land being
                    mentioned &#38;described were surveyed by <persName>Maj Amos Spafford</persName>
                    Surveyor. To have and to hold who aforesaid described premises to him the said
                    <persName ref="personography.xml#samuel_huntington">Samuel Huntington</persName> his heirs &#38;assigns forever to his
                    own proper who benefit and behalf. In witness whereof we have henceto set our
                    hands &#38;sales this <date>18th day of March. In 1802</date>

                        Caldwell</persName>, <persName>John Morgan</persName>&#38;<persName>Jonth
                        Brace Esquire</persName> signs and seals of the within instrument and
                    acknowledged the same to their voluntary act and deed before <persName>Epm
                        Root</persName> Justice Peace. State of Connecticut Hartford County. I
                        <persName>Thedon Dwight</persName> Notary Public for said County Duty
                    appointed &#38;qualified residing

                        to the acknowledgement</del> of the annexed instrument is a justice of the
                    Peace for said <placeName>Hartford County</placeName>&#38;as such is by saw
                    authorized to take and certify such acknowledgement, that said subscription is
                    in his said Roots handwriting. <sic>I the</sic> said Notary being well acquainted therewith
                    &#38;that full faith and credit is due to his official certificates in Court
                    &#38; Country. In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand &#38;affixed my
                    Notarial seal this <date when-iso="1803-03-18">Eighteenth day of of March</date> in the year of our Lord. One
