It's only a matter of time
I'm not a big space junkie, but I'm a huge proponent of the space elevator. If I could, I'd put money on the idea, I like it so much. So this recent development is very exciting. I've been following the idea for a few years now, and it's fun to see it go from a fringe proposal to one getting serious examination and development.
