SaraJean's Gov Doc of the Week for April 28, 2008
A few months ago, someone in the library remarked that Congress was wasting time investigating drugs in professional baseball when there were more important issues that needed investigation. Many people do not realize that the hearings about which one hears in the media are only a small fraction of what Congress does.
Here is a small sample of the Congressional hearings titles the library has received recently:
Gasoline prices, oil company profits, and the American consumer (SuDoc number: Y 4.C 73/8:110-51)
America's public debt: How do we keep it from rising? (SuDoc number: Y 4.F 49:S.HRG.109-985)
The passport backlog and the State Department's response to the Western Hemisphere Travel initiative (SuDoc number: Y 4.F 76/2:S.HRG.110-177)
Is OSHA working for working people? (SuDoc number: Y 4.L 11/4:S.HRG.110-40)
Green transportation infrastructure : challenges to access and implementation (SuDoc number: Y 4.SCI 2:110-27)
Protections for foster children enrolled in clinical trials (SuDoc number: Y 4.W 36:109-8)
