Sad Day
So two Saturdays ago, I'm getting ready to go to Vancouver for a week-long class on continuous casting, and I get a bulk email from our favorite prez - Darth Hundert - saying that one of my absolute most favorite teachers, Doc Oc, passed away unexpectedly.
I had been thinking to myself the whole week before: "gee, it's time to go see Doc," like I do every year about this time. You know, just to catch up and let him know that I'm still "plugging" and "chugging" away.
So, now I'm bummed that I can't go see Doc anymore.
An informal "celebration of his life" is today at Case - I plan on being there so long as I can escape work. It's the least I can do for a man that meant so much to my collegiate, um, success.
Thanks a bunch, Doc. You were a remarkable person. I'll miss you!
